BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has once again advanced in the Deir Ezzor countryside, liberating several points from the so-called Islamic State (ISIL) forces near the Deir Ezzor Military Airport.

Led by elements of the Republican Guard and Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army pushed southwest of the Tameen Base towards the 17th Hills in the Thardeh Mountains area.

According to the Syrian military, their elite forces managed to liberate the 17th Hills this evening after a fierce battle with the Islamic State terrorists in western Deir Ezzor.

With the 17th Hills liberated, the Syrian Arab Army is now attempting to close the gap on the last Islamic State terrorists in the vicinity of the Deir Ezzor Airport.

They should urgently send a detachment to Eastern Deir Ezzur across the Euphrates river to secure the oil and gas fields before it is too late.
