Moments ago in the provincial capital of the Dara’a Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade of the 5th Armored Division – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the Palestine Liberation Army (PLA) – continued their advance along the Dara’a Al-Balad axis with the Al-Manishiyah Quarter, capturing as many as six building blocks near the Jordanian border-crossing.

According to a military source inside the provincial capital, the Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade and their allies are currently advancing southeast of the Al-Manishiyah Quarter towards the central sector of the Dara’a Al-Balad Quarter.

While one battalion from Syrian Arab Army’s 15th Brigade pushes towards the central sector of the Dara’a Al-Balad Quarter, another battalion is advancing westward, where they are hoping to bypass the stiff defenses of the Free Syrian Army’s “Southern Front Brigades” and make their way to the Jordanian border-crossing that is located just a few kilometers away from the large city of ‘Irbid (Jordanian city).

If the Dara’a City border-crossing into Jordan is captured by the Syrian Armed Forces, they will have effectively cutoff the Islamist rebels from their primary supply line that begins in the Jordanian city of Mafraq; this city is also home to a large population of Syrians and CIA backed rebels.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

Be Agreeable, Even When You Disagree

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.
