DAMASCUS, SYRIA (0:00 P.M.) – On Thursday morning, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) conducted numerous sorties across northern Syria, targeting positions held by enemy combatants.

With dozens of airstrikes hitting ISIS positions in the governorate of Raqqa, a couple of airstrikes also seem to have struck villages recently captured by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a staunch ally of the US-led coalition.

Kurdish sources told Al-Masdar News that the SyAAF struck SDF forward positions at Abu Asi, a frontline village in the Tabqa region which was captured yesterday. In addition, Kurdish outlets claimed the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) had targeted the SDF with machine-gun fire and artillery from afar.

The SyAAF and SAA likely bombed ‘Liwa Thuwar Raqqa’, an Arab contingent of the SDF which fights under the flag of the Free Syrian Army (FSA).

With the US Air Force bombing the SAA and its allies a handful of times in southeastern Homs over the past month, the SyAAF is believed to have retaliated by directly targeting US allies in northern Syria.

It looks like an error ❗

“‘Liwa Thuwar Raqqa’, an Arab contingent of the SDF which fights under the flag of the Free Syrian Army (FSA)” => If these idiots go on using the colonial flag (yup, the FSA flag with green instead of red was the colonial one!), they don’t have to be surprised ending under fire as most of those using this one are fighting against Syrian govt! Was I fighting around, due to my opinions, I should fight under the Jolly Roger banner! Thus I’d use the red version! No way to use the black one : you’re sure to have it mistaken… Read more »

IT SHOULD BE ERROR BUT IF THEY ARE HOLDING FSA FLAG WHICH IS GREEN THEN SAA WILL TARGET THEM BCUZ THEY CONSIDER FSA AS TERRIOST ORGANISTAION WORKING FOR FORIGEN MASTER SAUDI/TURKEY/US . SO KURDISH SHOULD WARN THIS ARAB MEMBER NOT TO HOLD FSA FLAG BCUZ THEY ARE PART OF SDF/KURDISH ALLAINCE NOT FSA . AND THEY SHOULD NOT TARGET SAA MEMBERS AT ALL. WHEN THEY ARE FIGHITNG ISIL

Daesh attacks Iran and Syria – US attacks forces fighting Daesh in Syria – Western MSM want us to believe US is fighting terrorism. Smell – the – coffee. It is understandable if Syrian forces ‘accidentally’ target US allied forces on their territory.

After the Trump’s visit to the Saudi tyranny where the term terror has been shifted from ISIS to Iran and Hezbollah, both the US proxies of FSA/SDF and the so called FSA have complied to the US orders making it absolutely clear that their main objective is no longer ISIS but preventing Iran from gaining a foothold in Syria and the Syrian Arab Army from linking up to its Iraqi brethren. This is a declaration of war against the sole legitimate Syrian government and a challenge to its authority and Syria has a right to assert its sovereignty and territorial… Read more »

I add for corrctness sake that it is a blatant lie to say that the SDF had captured Abu Asi, though they had the intention to do so. The Syrian Arab Army arrived there first and has a right to retake control of its village of Abu Asi whether the invaders of the SDF like it or not.
