BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:30 A.M.) – The Syrian Democratic Forces have captured another Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) stronghold in the eastern part of the Euphrates River Valley this week.
Backed by the U.S. and French air forces, the Syrian Democratic Forces were able to assert full control over the Islamic State stronghold of Al-Shafah, tonight, after overrunning the terrorist group’s positions.
According to local reports, the Syrian Democratic Forces managed to kill a large number of Islamic State militants during the battle, while also seizing a large number of weapons left behind by the terrorist group.
With Al-Shafah fully under their control, the Syrian Democratic Forces will now push to enter the last Islamic State stronghold, Al-Sousah, which has been the target of several Iraqi air strikes.
