BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:15 A.M.) – The Russian Aerospace Forces are heavily bombing the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate tonight, targeting several areas under the control of the jihadist rebels.

According to a Syrian military source near the southern Idlib front, the Russian Aerospace Forces have launched their largest air attack of the year over this part of the province, with already some 40 airstrikes conducted in the last hour.

The primary target for the Russian airstrikes are the jihadist rebels that recently launched a big counter-offensive along the Hama axis, which resulted in the capture of Khuwayn.

The source continued that in addition to the airstrikes, the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces have launched a large number of surface-to-surface missiles towards the Abu Dhuhour Airport in a bid to storm the installation in the coming hours.
