BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:50 P.M.) – A Russian jet was allegedly shot down by jihadist rebels over the Idlib Governorate, today, pro-opposition media pages are reporting.

Based on the reports, the Russian aircraft that was shot down by the jihadist rebels was a Su-25 jet, which has been carrying out airstrikes over Idlib the last few days.

Some reports indicate that the Su-25 jet was shot down by an anti-aircraft missile near the town of Saraqib in eastern Idlib.

No further details have been released, nor has the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed the report.
