BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:00 P.M.) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Moscow “has conclusive evidence that proves that chemical attacks in Douma were staged,” during a joint press conference alongside Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok in Moscow, Friday.
Lavrov stated that Russian military experts found no proof of chemical weapons’ usage in the site of alleged attack, adding that the evidence shows that “it was staged by secret service of one of the states, which is now trying to lead the Russophobic campaign.”
France, the US and UK have threatened to take action against the Syrian government after its alleged chemical weapons usage against civilians in Douma.
Syria has denied the allegations, calling them a “fabrication.”
