BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force has resumed their assault over the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate, today, after taking a 24-hour hiatus.
According to a military source in northwestern Hama, the Russian Air Force unleashed a powerful attack on the militant defenses at the town of Jibeen and the nearby hilltop of Tal Malah.
The source said the Russian airstrikes are likely a prelude to another Syrian Arab Army (SAA) attack on Tal Malah and Jibeen.
Furthermore, this source denied the previous claims that the Syrian Air Force was grounded as a result of talks. The source said the SyAAF was grounded as a result of anti-aircraft missiles used by the jihadist rebels.
On Friday, the jihadist rebels in northern Hama targeted a Syrian jet with an anti-aircraft missile (MANPADS); it would for the warplane to make an emergency landing at the Hama Military Airport.
