BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:10 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force unleashed a massive assault across northwestern Syria this evening, targeting several areas controlled by both the jihadist and Turkish-backed rebels.

According to a military source in Hama, the Russian Air Force heavily targeted northern Hama and southern Idlib, hitting the positions of both Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-Izza in the northwestern region of Syria.

Among the towns targeted by the Russian Air Force tonight was the Jaysh Al-Izza stronghold of Kafr Zita, which is located just south of the Idlib Governorate’s border.

The Russian Air Force also targeted several others where Jaysh Al-Izza and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham launch missiles and artillery shells from.

This attack by the Russian Air Force comes in response to the militant attack on the government stronghold of Masyaf in western Hama.

The jihadist attack on Masyaf resulted in the death of at least seven people, including two nurses that were on duty at the Masyaf National Hospital.

The Masyaf National Hospital did suffer some material damage as a result of this jihadist attack, but opposition activists have denied targeting it.
