BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:10 P.M.) – According to yet unconfirmed reports from various sources, Russian military personnel stationed at a small base in the town of Tal Riffat – located in northern Aleppo province – are to withdraw and concede its fate to Turkish-backed forces.

The unconfirmed claims come after days of talks between Moscow and Ankara over the future of Tal Riffat; during this time US-backed forces currently in control of the town have proven uncooperative insofar as not granting Erdogan’s request to allow its displaced Arab residents to return.

Tal Riffat was captured by Jaysh al-Thuwar (an Arab faction within the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces) in February 2016.

If the reports are true, then it is unclear whether or not US-backed fighters will remain in Tal Riffat to defend the town from an inevitable storming operation by Turkish-led coalition forces to capture it.

Everyone, including but not limited to Kurdish people must understand that Russians will NOT protect anyone who is acting against the Syria sovereignty as an entire whole country. Kurdish people still act childish and they still prefer to stick with USA instead of get united with Syrians (in a Syrian soil). Everybody who thinks Turks are worst than Kurds is simply wrong. Kurds right now are the biggest threat to Syria and Syrians as people. Rest assured, Russians will deal with Erdogan later and make him retreat from North Syria and unite all territories that Turks invaded. Again, biggest threat… Read more »

There is a strategy in play between 2 out of 3 parties involved. I am deliberately not going to disclose it yet. In my view I would have done it in a different way (already have mentioned it here) but I think the 2 parties are playing it in a different way. The only thing I will disclose and almost can guarantee is that all the SDF or Kurdish forces will end up getting flogged. A 4th party at this stage isn’t going to get involved.

It seems the Russians are using the Turks to do what Russia cannot do…confront the US forces. The US is stymied in it’s dealing with Turkey. Hopefully when the time comes for the Turks to leave, Russia will not have to force their decision.

May I point out Russians can and will confront USA. Just not right now. It’s not the right time. Rest assured, Russians will liquidate USA as they did this once with Jews on 965 by Russian King Sviatoslav First and got their holly land* (if you research where is Jews first country, you will find out it’s not where now is Israel and Jerusalem), as they did twice with French people (they try to conquer Russia twice), as they did once with Germans (everybody knows what happened with Hitler who were thinking Russians are easy catch). Russians are born solders… Read more »

Russians were unable to restore justice in Afrin as YPG does not let the Arab residents to return to their homes. Some good force needed. Russia stands for international justice and does not dictate the evil rules anywhere.

IMHO Yes. YPG have so far trying to pick raisins – as we say.
They want a Federation but will not fulfil the obligations to the central government.

p.s.The YPG claim the Arabs in question collaborated with IS and the militants backed by Turkey. But it is the central government that issued reconciliation decrees. They must follow this as a rule.

Russia sold out Syrian soil to Moggolians because they are ‘good friends’. I am very sorry because seems that with money Russia makes friends, but they don’t know that their ‘good friends’ are the best friends for US .

Russia makes Syria united again. YPG wants Kurdistan w/o Arabs. This is not the nationalism but a nazism like in Ukraine and some other never been sovereign nations before. Russia makes friends out of good nations not of the bogus formations collected from irresponsible morons fighting for power.

europe? Half of Europe was freed from Napoleon by Russia, Balkans were freed from osmas by Russia, Ukraine and Finland had their state sovereignty from Russia. Yugoslavia was rich big country before US torn her apart. Cuba still has one of the best medicine, VietNam sews many of clothes and care for many tourists. Honduras doesn’t live better than Nicaragua (despite of US protectorate) So, what are the facts? bullshit. Yes some countries have low income but they are live happily. they have enough. in US there are plenty of ppl who does not have enough. and western europe now… Read more »

The SDF/YPG either truly join a Syrian Federation and take the rough with the smooth – or sell the oil fields and their souls to the US and have the US defend them against Turkey.

Selling USA oil and be defended by USA are two separate things.
SDF should learn from the fate of former US allies, like Saddam, Mubarak, the Afghani Talebans/warlords, and… oh wait! Iraqi Kurds too were left in the cold by USA. Twice! In Desert Storm and recently in Kirkuk.
Kurds never learn. Never did. Will never do.

you’d better collect videos of americans’ speeches and promises…
;)))
tables are turning. Kurds were on one side, then they went to another.
so, in the long run, did american help to bring peace to Syria? as for me they brought more of chaos, made kurds behave separately.
BTW, in US all thoughts of separatism are felony

you are liar! supra vidi for explanation. due to your high emotion you have either your own personal hate for them (which is highly subjective) or you have been paid for these commets. you said that Cuba, Nicaragua and VietNam live badly. It means _you_consider_ that, so your mind is greedy and easily accept any salary… I was in Caribbean, Latin America, Asia…. Common ppl in Dominicana live not better than in Cuba. Nicaragua live the same way as Honduras (btw San Pedro Sula is most! real dangerous cities). VietNAm lives the same like Philippines and Bangladesh (which is also… Read more »
