DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4: 40 P.M.) – Jihadi rebels managed to seize a key base west of the southern city of Daraa as battles re-erupted today following the end of a 48 ceasefire.

The Islamist Insurgents launched a massive counter-offensive whereby they took over the Air Defense Base located directly to the west of the provincial capital, in addition to a nearby hilltop. This comes only a few hours after the government forces recaptured the strategic site early today.

Five Army troops have been killed, 4 others captured alive in the counter-attack which also resulted in rebels seizing a T-72 tank.

The Base retains a strategic importance for it serves as the main supply route between the rebel-controlled parts of the provincial capital and the western countryside of Daraa.

According to informed sources, the Syrian Army will more likely push for another major assault in order to re-take the base.

Maybe. But this area is vital for them, they are finished without it.
All honour to the attacking force but they do not have the capacity of the Tiger forces.

maybe next time if more locations and positions for jihadists are now mapped for air attack.

This temporary gain by the terrorists needs to be reversed again immediately and with it the SAA needs to capture twice as much territory from he terrorists as before to send a clear signal that any illusion of success by the US foreign mercenary terror squads is futile. It is important that the counter strike of the Syrian Arab Army will be launched a soon as possible with more determination and this time with better air cover to prevent any counter offensives by the foreign invading terror squads.
