According to Jabhat Al-Nusra’s (Syrian Al-Qaeda) official news site, the strategic village of Tal Al-‘Eiss has been reportedly captured by their fighters after fierce battle with the Syrian Armed Forces tonight.
Originally, the extremist rebels were repelled by the Syrian Armed Forces when they tried to take the village during the day; however, their second assault proved decisive as they were allegedly able to overrun the southwestern flank of Tal Al-‘Eiss.
The news has not been confirmed by the Syrian Armed Forces, but prior reports from this front indicated that the second Nusra assault was more intense than their previous attack during the day.
Jabhat Al-Nusra was not alone during this offensive; they were also joined by Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda group), Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, and Ajnad Al-Sham.
Tal Al-‘Eiss is an imperative village that overlooks the Aleppo-Damascus Highway; its capture this morning has given the extremist rebels some breathing room along this vital roadway.
