BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:50 A.M.) – The Lebanese Internal Security Forces managed to foil a terrorist attack that was going to be carried out by the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) in the ‘Akkar District this morning.
According to the statement released by the Lebanese Internal Security Forces, their troops arrested the Daesh member while he planting an explosive device along a road used by the army.
“Based on information about orders to [Daesh members] to carry out terrorist acts in the countries they reside in, and following observation and tracking operations, a special force from the Information Branch conducted a swift security operation and managed to apprehend A.D., born 2002, in Akkar,” the ISF statement read.
They said that the arrest came shortly before the Daesh member was able to finish planting the explosive device.
