BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:10 P.M.) – The last battle for the Islamic State’s (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) Euphrates enclave is underway, as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) storm the terrorist group’s positions near the town of Baghouz.

Backed by heavy artillery and airstrikes from the U.S. Coalition, the Syrian Democratic Forces have begun hitting the Islamic State’s positions in this Euphrates River Valley enclave.

The goal of this assault is to completely eliminate the Islamic State’s presence at the town, while ensuring the safety of the remaining civilians caught between the fighting.

More details to come….

This last battle comes just 24 hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced victory against the Islamic State in Syria.

If the civilians are in tunnels, they are safe until the assault begins. If they are not, they are sheltered by tents against shelling and bombs, so not at all. One can only pray there are only iS families there.
