Minutes ago in the Al-Ghaab Plains of northwestern Hama, the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jund Al-Aqsa” – backed by the Turkestan Islamic Party – launched a new offensive at the villages of Al-Mansoura, Khirbat Al-Naqous, and Haqoura in order to recapture them from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF).
Jund Al-Aqsa began the offensive by launching a VBIED (vehicle borne improvised explosive device) at the Syrian Arab Army controlled Al-Mansoura Grain Silos; this terrorist attack connected, creating a massive explosion that could be heard from as far as Joureen.
The status of the Syrian Arab Army soldiers at the Al-Mansoura Grain Silos is still unknown; it is very likely that they retreated from this imperative site.
Fierce clashes are currently ongoing at several axes in the Al-Ghaab Plains’ northwestern countryside, as Jund Al-Aqsa and the Turkestan Islamic Party look to retake these imperative villages on the border of the Latakia Governorate.
