BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:20 P.M.) – Minutes ago, the Turkish-backed National Liberation Front and jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham announced that they reached an agreement in the Al-Ghaab Plain.
Just a week after leaving the Al-Ghaab Plain in southwest Idlib, HTS and the NLF reached an agreement that would allow the latter to reestablish control over their former positions in this area.
The National Liberation Front will deploy to the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) front-lines in a bid to stop any potential offensive they were planning to launch.
This move by the jihadist and Turkish-backed rebels comes just days after the Syrian Arab Army moved tens of thousands of soldiers to the Idlib and Hama provinces.
The Syrian Arab Army had planned to capture the areas Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham took control of in the last few weeks.
