BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:40 P.M.) – The jihadist rebels, led by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, launched a new operation against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northwestern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

According to a military report from the northwestern part of Hama, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and their Turkish-backed rebel allies, Jaysh Al-Izza, launched a heavy attack on the Syrian Army held town of Huwayz.

The report said the Syrian Arab Army and jihadist rebels are engaged in a heavy battle at the moment, with no gains reported by either side.

This is the first attempted advance by the jihadist rebels since their failed attack in northwestern Hama last week.
