BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:40 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels launched a new attack on the besieged Shiite towns of Al-Fou’aa and Kafraya this morning.
Led by the foreign fighters of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, the jihadist rebels stormed Kafraya’s eastern flank from their positions at the nearby Barouma Farms.
According to a military source from the National Defense Forces (NDF), their troops are currently clashing with the jihadist rebels at two separate axes.
The NDF source said that the fiercest clashes are taking place at the Barouma Farms-Kafraya axis, adding that the jihadist rebels have yet to make any gains.
This is the second major attack on the besieged Shiite towns of Al-Fou’aa and Kafraya by the jihadist rebels this week.
Both Kafraya and Al-Fou’aa are located near the provincial capital of the Idlib Governorate; they were besieged in the Spring of 2015, when the jihadist rebels of Jaysh Al-Fateh seized almost all of the province.
