BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 A.M.) – The jihadist rebels launched a powerful attack against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the Turkish border, tonight, the National Defense Forces (NDF) reported.
According to the NDF report, the the jihadist rebels launched an attack on the Syrian Arab Army posts at the Nourah, Al-Darah, and Shahrourah Al-Wafa’een points in the Turkmen Mountains of northern Latakia.
The jihadist rebels reportedly launched this attack from the western axis of this area in a bid to overwhelm the Syrian Arab Army troops posted up in this part of the Turkmen Mountains.
The Syrian Army is attempting to thwart this jihadist attack now, despite the absence of their air force tonight.
This is the second time in the last four days that the jihadist rebels have targeted the Syrian Arab Army’s positions in this part of the Turkmen Mountains.
Due to these attacks, the Syrian Army has beefed up their defenses in northern Latakia, as they expect the jihadist rebels to launch a large-scale offensive soon.
