BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:45 P.M.) – Minutes ago, the jihadist rebels in southwest Idlib launched an attack on the Hmeymim Airport using their armed drones.
According to a military report from Latakia, the jihadist rebels attempted to attack the northeastern part of the Hmeymim Airport; however, they were identified by the Russian air defense before they could bomb the installation.
The report stated that nothing was hit at the Hmeymim Airport, adding that the drones were tracked from the Jisr Al-Shughour countryside.
Tonight’s attempted strike marks the second attack launched by the jihadist rebels on the Hmeymim Airport in the last 24 hours.
The jihadist rebels have recently intensified their attacks on the Hmeymim Airport in response to the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) upcoming offensive that targets their areas in the Jisr Al-Shughour countryside.
