BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday afternoon that a missile from Syria was fired into the occupied Golan Heights.
“A short while ago, a rocket was fired at the northern Golan Heights and was intercepted by the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System,” the IDF spokesperson said this afternoon.
The Syrian military has not yet responded to these claims by the Israeli Defense Forces.
In the past, the Israeli forces have launched retaliatory attacks after projectiles from Syria were fired into the occupied Golan Heights.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli forces fired nine missiles towards the southwestern countryside of Damascus; this attack was ultimately repelled by the Syrian air defenses before any projectiles could reach their intended targets.
