BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:40 P.M.) – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed this evening that a number of anti-aircraft missiles were fired into the occupied Golan Heights region from Syria.
The IDF alleged that the anti-aircraft missiles were specifically fired towards Mount Hermon (Jabal Sheikh), which is the same site they previously claimed was attacked by projectiles from Syria.
Israel holds the Syrian military responsible for all such attacks, even if the latter is not involved.
The Israeli military will likely respond in the coming hours, as they have in the past. They will most likely target a Syrian air defense site inside western Damascus or the Al-Quneitra Governorate.
The Israeli military has already bombed Syria on two separate occasions this month, with the last attack resulting in the partial destruction of the T-4 Airbase in eastern Homs.
