BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:05 A.M.) – At approximately 2:40 A.M. (Damascus Time), the Israeli military fired several rockets from the occupied territories of Lebanon towards the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in the west Damascus town of Qutayfah.
According to a report from the National Defense Forces (NDF), one of the rockets was shot down by the Syrian Air Defense, while another landed near the SAA’s positions.
Following this attack, the Israeli military fired two surface-to-surface missiles at 4:00 A.M. and four more at 4:15 A.M.
While one of the missiles was intercepted, the remaining struck the Syrian Army’s positions inside Qutayfah.
The National Defense Forces reported that these surface-to-surface missiles were fired from the Lake Tiberius area and were intended to destroy the Syrian Army’s base in Qutayfah.
The total number of casualties is unknown at the moment.
