BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:45 P.M.) – The Islamist rebels launched a new attack on a government-held town in the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate this evening.
According to a military source in nearby Mhardeh, Jaysh Al-Izza militants fired a number of rockets towards the government stronghold of Salhab, causing several explosions in the process.
The source said that the Syrian Arab Army has since activated their rocket sirens in order to notify civilians in the area to seek shelter.
Since the Islamist rebels launched the attack, the Syrian Arab Army has responded with a heavy assault of their own.
A source from the Syrian Arab Army said that they are heavily bombarding the Jaysh Al-Izza stronghold of Kafr Zita in response to this latest attack by the latter.
