BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:10 P.M.) – Minutes ago, the Islamic State’s (ISIS) official media wing, Al-‘Amaq News Agency, alleged that their forces downed a Russian helicopter in the eastern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

According to the statement released by the terrorist group, their forces downed the Russian helicopter near the Sheikh Hilal area of eastern Hama.

However, it is worth noting that the Islamic State does not possess a presence in Sheikh Hilal, so if their forces did indeed down the Russian chopper, it would have been targeted from the Homs countryside.

The official statement released by the Islamic State:

The Russian Ministry of Defense has not commented on this claim by ISIS.
