BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:33 A.M.) – Elite forces of the Syrian Arab Army are on the verge of vanquishing ISIS in the country’s northwest as they clear the final areas controlled by the terrorist group across Hama province.
Moments ago, military-affiliated sources reported that the Syrian Army – led by the elite Tiger Forces Division – cleared another swath of areas across the northeastern countryside of Hama province from Islamic State militants.
The recently captured areas include the towns, villages, mountains and hilltops of Turut Sharqiya, Turut Janoubiya, Rasem Anz, Tutul Humr, Qaser ibn Wardan, Muwaylih Suwaranah, Muwaylih ibn Hadib, Anbaz, Jabal Mudawar, Tal Muwaylih, Tal Abwiyah, Dabah, Jabal Huwayses, Tal Huwayses and Tal Zaebiq.
By this advance, the ISIS pocket in northwest Syria has been reduced to a dozen or so towns and villages, down from over one hundred settlements held by the terrorist group across the region just five days ago.
Updates to follow.
