BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 P.M.) – The Islamic State (ISIS) attempted to cross into Iraq tonight from their positions along the Syrian border, the official media wing of the Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) reported.
According to the PMU’s media wing, the Iraqi Armed Forces foiled the Islamic State’s infiltration attempt after the border-guards spotted the terrorists making their way through to the Iraqi Crossing.
The Iraqi Armed Forces not only foiled the assault, but also, killed most of the terrorists that were attempting to infiltrate from Syria’s Deir Ezzor Governorate.
ISIS has become desperate as of late after losing several areas to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in eastern Syria.
With virtually nowhere to go, the Islamic State has been forced to launch desperate attacks in a bid to breakout of the Syrian Desert.
