BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:40 P.M.) – The Iraqi Armed Forces liberated two neighborhoods in Mosul’s Old City this afternoon, following a number of clashes with the Islamic State (ISIL) terror organization.

According to a statement released by the Iraqi Joint Command, the army and federal police managed to break-through the Islamic State’s front-lines and take control of the Hatar Al-Sada and Al-Ahmadiyah neighborhoods of Old Mosul.

As a result of today’s advance, the Iraqi Armed Forces now control more than 50 percent of Old Mosul, including much of the western part of this strategic district in the provincial capital.

The end is near!
Moreover, once the city retaken, it’ll free serious manpower to cleanse the rest of the country.
With Raqqa near to fall too, I feel IS will enter in history as the shortest lived caliphate ever. If only other caliphates had been crushed as fast, hundred of millions of lives would have been spared in the last 1400 years.
