BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:50 P.M.) – Minutes ago, the pro-government Popular Mobilization Units (Hashd Al-Sha’abi) liberated the Safouk Border-Crossing into the Syrian province of Al-Hasakah.

The PMU was able to take control of the Safouk Crossing after launching a surprise assault, tonight, from the recently liberated town of Ba’aj, east of the Syrian border.

The Safouk Crossing was an important site along the Syrian border that the Islamic State used to resupply their fighters in the Al-Raqqa, Deir Ezzor, Homs, and Al-Hasakah governorates.

With Safouk under their control, the Iraqi Armed Forces are quickly advancing to the Islamic State’s most important border-crossing at Al-Qa’im, which is located directly east of Syria’s Deir Ezzor Governorate.

Will likely be of little value unless the PMU advances into Syria before the Operetta Commando Revolution Army or the SDF
occupies the Syrian side.

YPG is not a problem, they absolutely team/teamed with SAA in several areas.
Now what should be done should simply be put up NDZ (no drive zones) from the air to totally break IS logistics.
No matter who the actor is, I’m simply puzzled that such obvious strategic principle is simply not applied!

Because it was not a priority for the US Coalition in Syria and Iraq perhaps ?
It would have ruined the UK and US arms deals with the Saudi financiers of ISIS as well 🙂

Every day we see another disaster befalling Western leaders in the Middle East.
It is a joy to watch.
The UK Election has been even more lacklustre than the recent French one.
It is clear to a blind man now that most Western Politicians are totally incompetent . God only knows how they manage to wipe their arses. Perhaps they don’t.

Spot on.
Hopefully a Corbyn win would bring some sanity.

Allow SAA now to use that border crossing from Iraq to attack isil in Syria side of the border so SAA open another fighting front to reach dier zor or PMU SHOULD ALSO ENTER SYRIA SIDE OF THE BORDER AND CREATE A BUFFER ZONE OF ATLEAST 5 TO 10 KILOMETER AND FLY SAA FORCE THERE SO THEY START ATRACKING ISIL TO DIVERT THIER FORCE FROM DIER ZOR CITY WHERE THEY ARE ATTACKING SAA AND CIVILIAN. SAA AND PMU SHOULD DO NOW DON’T WASTE TIME

YPG not a problem? BS, the SDF has declared that thay will not let ‘shiite militias’ into Syria,
this is clearly the US speaking.

Quite.
It’s the US speaking, NOT the Kurds.
