BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – The Iraqi Air Force carried out a powerful attack over the eastern countryside of Syria’s Deir Ezzor Governorate this afternoon.
According to a military source in eastern Syria, the Iraqi Air Force struck the Islamic State’s (ISIS) positions around the key town of Hajjin, which is located east of the Euphrates River Valley.
The source added that the Iraqi Air Force managed to score a direct hit on an Islamic State camp near the town of Hajjin; however, he did not have any information on the casualties.
The Iraqi Air Force often carries out strategic airstrikes like this in Syria when they have exclusive information about the terrorist group’s whereabouts and their gathering points.
It is very likely that the Iraqi Air Force was targeting an Islamic State command meeting because Hajjin was the location of the terrorist group’s headquarters.
