BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:40 P.M.) – The Spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri, told reporters on Sunday that Iran’s military advisers went to Syria at the request of the government in Damascus.

“Iranian advisers only went to Syria at the request of the legitimate government,” the Spokesperson stated this afternoon.

“Iranian-Syrian relations are deep and strategic; they are not affected by lies,” he continued.

The Spokesperson would then touch on the topic of Israel, adding that Hezbollah is always at their border and there is nothing they can do to change that.

I think that Brigadier General Massoud Jazayeri doesn’t get that there is no protestation by Israelis that the presence of Iranian forces is legitimate in Syria under international law! The little problem is that, although classic armed forces actions have nothing to do with it, Khamenei’s anti-Israeli actions through IRGC (which is his personal army), Hezbollah or Hamas are absolutely casus-belli under the same international law, same if Iranian forces install themselves in the bordering area, but even if they don’t! In fact, would Israeli wanted to, they’d even have absolutely the right to attack Iranian territory incl. Mr Jazayeri’s… Read more »
