SANA’A, YEMEN (9:31 A.M.) – Houthi fighters have fired a medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM), designated Qaher-M2, into southern Saudi Arabia. The missile targeted a gathering of Saudi troops and Saudi-allied mercenaries in the center of the town of Al-Mousem in Jizan province.
At this time, the losses incurred by the Saudi-led ground forces are unknown.
The use of this missile, and others of its type (i.e. the Tochka), demonstrates the strategic reach that Houthi forces (and the allied Yemeni Republic Guard) have at their disposal in order to retaliate against the constant bombardment coming in from Saudi-led coalition airpower, by themselves being able to strike into Saudi Arabia with stand-off weapon systems.
