BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:20 P.M.) – A man who was disrupting the speech of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel was dragged out of the room by security in Berlin on Friday.

Footage shows Erdogan pausing his speech and exchanging looks with Merkel as the heckler gets dragged away. immediately after the episode, the German and Turkish leaders shared a brief look, with Erdogan appearing to briefly giggle.

According to local media, the heckler was protesting against Erdogan for press freedoms in Turkey.

BreakErdogan is paying a three-day state visit to Germany, in an attempt to improve economic and political ties with the German government. It is the first of its kind since becoming president in 2014
