BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:15 P.M.) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to invade the Syrian city of Manbij if the ‘terrorists’ to do not leave soon.

“There is no satisfactory plan that is put before us concretely yet,” Erdogan told a parliamentary meeting of his AK Party.

“Of course we are loyal to our agreements, our promise is a promise. But our patience is not limitless,” he continued

He added that if terrorists are not removed from Syria’s Manbij in a couple of weeks, Ankara will run out of patience.

“If the terrorists do not leave Manbij in a few weeks, then our patience will end. The United States must keep Turkey’s data on Syria’s promises, otherwise Ankara itself will take steps to eliminate the threats to national security,” he said.

Despite Erdogan’s threats, the Syrian Arab Army has effectively blocked their path to Manbij, which may cause some friction between Ankara and Moscow.

Manbij is expected to be discussed at the upcoming Astana Peace Conference that is to be held on February 14th.

Turkey is blocking syria from smashing hts in idlib, saa is blocking turkey from smashing sdf in manbij, im sure they could and would do well to have a sit down and make a little deal, also the saa should tell sdf it is planning on pulling back from manbij unless theres a deal in which the kurds fall back into line with damascus, obviously they cant expect the u.s. to do anything to help them so what real choice do they have? . I know this is over simplified but come on guys get this thing rolling.

Easier and more consistent would be to give turkey one month to vacate all Syrian regions and then Russia, SAA and SDF would attack those regions, any turkish military lossess the result of their illegal presence. No Nato protection here for Turkey as it would not be Turkey that was attacked, just their illegal proxies. Same reasoning as Turkey uses vis a vis Manbij with the added reason that Turkey attacking Manbij would also be illegal in itself. SAA attacking a declared terrorist organisation on Syrian soil, which btw SDF nor YPG is, is perfectly legal.

What? Turkey sticks to its promises? Since when? The animal Ottoman Empire broke every single treaty they had in the past and then attacked, invaded, raped, murdered, plundered etc etc countless nations. Let’s analyse it: 1) Treaties broken every 2 years or so with the Serbs 2) Treaty between the Ottoman and Byzantine Empire 3) Treaty between Hungary and the Ottoman Empire 4) Treaty between Austria and the Ottoman Empire Notice something. All of these treaties were broken by the Ottoman Empire (even though all these nations never acted aggressively, but out of defence). The Ottoman Empire sought to spread… Read more »

To take Manbij he has to attack Russian soldiers. I wish Erdogan all the luck he then wil need. Big mouth, no talk.
