BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:52 A.M.) – Elite Syrian forces have made another avalanche of territorial gains in the eastern countryside of Idlib province, ripping some twelve towns and villages from the hands of jihadist-led militias since renewing their attack on Wednesday morning en-route to a key city and its nearby airbase.
Moments ago, military-affiliated sources reported that assault troops of the Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces Division, seized the settlements of Jubb Abyad, Aziziyah, Ras al-Ayn, Rasm Niyas, Rasm al-Jahash, Uwayjah, Umm Tamakh, Buwaydir, Rifiyah, Bayaah as-Sagirah, Bayaah Kabirah and Qawlat Buwaydeer from militant armed groups.
The renewed blitz by elite army forces in eastern Idlib was kicked-off on early Wednesday morning in the face of rather heavy rebel artillery attacks and, despite this resistance, has been ongoing ever since.
The latest gains place Syrian troops just south of the Abu Duhur airbase and the nearby city of Abu Duhur to within two or so kilometers at the closest point
