BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:01 P.M.) – Elite forces of the Syrian Arab Army have carried out another powerful assault in Idlib province’s southeastern countryside, ripping through three towns, relieving them of militant occupation, and once again changing the general direction of their offensive push throughout the region.

According to military-affiliated sources, in recent hours assault units of the Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces Division and veteran 4th Mechanized Division liberated from jihadist-led militias the towns of Umm Rajim, Mashhad and Murayjib in southeast Idlib province.

Furthermore, Syrian troops also captured the hilltop of Tell Khizanah which overlooks, for the most part, the aforementioned towns.

By this advance, elite Syrian forces have once against changed the general direction of their advance, halting – it seems for now – their northward push on the jihadist stronghold of Sinjar and now hooking around east towards the Ithriyah-Khannaser road in what may be an attempt to envelop rebel groups in northeast Hama province.
