BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – The so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) launched a big assault in the southeastern countryside of the Deir Ezzor Governorate, today, after failing to advance on Friday.
According to local reports from Deir Ezzor, Daesh was able to overwhelm the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at the town of Al-Bahra this afternoon.
As a result of this attack, the Syrian Democratic Forces were forced to withdraw from Al-Bahra in order to avoid suffering anymore casualties at the hands of Daesh.
Daesh is currently attacking the remaining SDF fighters around Al-Bahra as they attempt to fully secure the town before the U.S. Coalition begins to heavily bombard their positions there.
