Previous unconfirmed reports that 20 civilians in northern Syria were killed by Turkish airstrikes and artillery fire have been confirmed by my a number of sources including the AFP News Agency and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).

“At least 20 civilians were killed and 50 others wounded by Turkish artillery fire and air strikes on Sunday morning at Jeb el-Kussa,” a village south of Jarabulus, said Rami Abdel Rahman of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Jeb el-Kussa is located 14 kilometres south of Jarabulus that was recently taken by the Free Syrian Army with Turkish assistance from ISIS. Jeb el-Kussa is controlled by the Kurdish YPG.

This atrocity comes only into the fifth day of Turkey’s Euphrates Shield Operation.

It was a group of YPG fighters hit. Pro-PKK tweeps are spreading fake news with pictures from the Baniyas massacre to claim it was civilians.

Leith Fadel (owner of this website and senior editor) is part Kurdish.

Get ready for LOTS of Israeli-manufactured propaganda about “civilians”.

ZERO chance he will reply to clarify his editorial policy (like a real journalist). – So what’s it going to be? Ignore me and let (a few) people learn the truth, delete this comment like a coward, or better yet REPLY to me (or post something on twitter) that clears this issue up. – I’m telling you, Leith Fadel is at least part Kurdish. I have suspected this for a while and his recent choice of articles pretty much confirms it. – Nothing wrong with that UNLESS he is re-posting Kurdish/Israeli propaganda in order to generate sympathy for their nationalist… Read more »

Dear George, oh dear where to begin….
As far as we know, Leith is not even a little bit Kurdish. Not that would matter since he didn’t write this article. Paul is definitely not Kurdish not that this would have mattered either.
The story came to us over the news wire so we report it, as we do everything that is reasonably confirmed. If it proves to be a hoax we’ll report accordingly.

Charles the Hammer too. And why not the Holy League although it looked a little like… NATO w.o. the US, Canada and Turkey but with Russia. In some way, it was already how I consider we should build European defences!
