Previous unconfirmed reports that 20 civilians in northern Syria were killed by Turkish airstrikes and artillery fire have been confirmed by my a number of sources including the AFP News Agency and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
“At least 20 civilians were killed and 50 others wounded by Turkish artillery fire and air strikes on Sunday morning at Jeb el-Kussa,” a village south of Jarabulus, said Rami Abdel Rahman of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Jeb el-Kussa is located 14 kilometres south of Jarabulus that was recently taken by the Free Syrian Army with Turkish assistance from ISIS. Jeb el-Kussa is controlled by the Kurdish YPG.
This atrocity comes only into the fifth day of Turkey’s Euphrates Shield Operation.
