BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:20 P.M.) – An intense battle broke-out between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham in the northwestern part of Aleppo city tonight.
According to a local source, Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham began the attack by launching several missiles and artillery shells towards the Syrian Army’s positions inside the Al-Zahra’a Assoiciation Quarter of northwest Aleppo.
The Syrian Army would respond with their own barrage of missiles and artillery shells until both forces were exchanging gunfire near the Great Mosque.
Fierce clashes are now ongoing at the Al-Zahra’a axis; however, no force is making any offensive moves.
Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham has been carrying out several attacks in northwest Aleppo recently, prompting the Syrian military to build-up their forces in the area for a potential offensive.
