BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:00 P.M.) – A ceasefire was announced this afternoon in the southeastern countryside of the Hama Governorate, following a back-and-forth battle between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and jihadist rebels.

According to a military source in Damascus, the ceasefire was established along the southeastern countryside of Hama after a rebel delegation met with the Russian military at the Dar Al-Kabeera Crossing in northern Homs.

The rebel forces in the area have also agreed to the terms of the agreement and will hold talks with the Russian military about possibly reconciling with the Syrian government in both southeast Hama and Northern Homs countryside.

No further details have been released at this moment.
