DAMASCUS, SYRIA (8:00 P.M.) – Minutes ago, a car bomb exploded in the rebel-held border city of Azaz in northern Aleppo. According to preliminary reports, three people have been killed and at least a dozen more injured.
No group has taken responsibility for the bombing as of yet.
Azaz has been plagued by tens of car bombs over the past year, indicating a power struggle between rival insurgent factions that have set up checkpoints across the city.
Not long ago, the Turkish Armed Forces threatened to disband militant groups from Azaz and set up a military police force to prevent future car bombs in the border city.
