BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:49 P.M.) – Saturday has witnessed another massive flood of civilians fleeing areas of Damascus’ East Ghouta region under the control of militant groups reach Syrian Army lines.

According to Russian and Syrian sources, anywhere between 7,000 (per Russian military) to 10,000 (per Syrian Ministry of Defence) civilians have exited the combat zone in East Ghouta into territory controlled by government forces.

It has not yet been specified which rebel-held districts the civilian exodus is coming from, but the residential suburbs of Kafr Batna and Saqba are hinted at.

At the present time, the Syrian Army is storming both Kafr Batna and Saqba in a bid to roll deep into the insurgent-controlled urban heartland of East Ghouta amid what appears to be a general collapse of militant defenses across the region.

Would someone please inform the good gentleman Staffan de Mistura, the UN Special Envoy for Syria, that the refugees are running towards the SAA lines for safety and not choosing to flee with the foreign-backed jihadis?

And tell him to actually help them as they are in dire need of help! The little old Italian rat has gone quiet!
