The Syrian Army’s Tiger Forces have captured Abou Taltal directly to the south of ISIS-held Al-Bab.

This puts the Tiger Forces under 2km from the southern gates of Al-Bab, and comes just as Turkish-led forces have entered the city.

The advance occurred with cover from Russian airstrikes that followed with heavy clashes with the terrorist group that began in the morning.

With the capture of Abou Taltal, the Syrian Army effectively now has fire control over Tadef, which lays directly south of Al-Bab.

They should send a force, along the road to the west, to bypass Tadef, take control of M4 and the roundabout between Tadef and Al Bab, and then let follow-on units take this town.

Yes. Like blitzkrieg. And leave IS an exit to the East. p.s. But my google map (satellite view) does not show what ground is high. The roundabout can be on low ground overlooked by hills and houses? So I wonder whether that would make sense.

@Ursula, on the south (below) of al-Bab. The road Janak talks about is between Tadef and Al Bab. It is the M 4 autobahn from Aleppo. https://www.google.de/maps/place/Al+Bab,+Syria/@36.3710412,37.4817825,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x15303d964c89c6fd:0x407b6e03a728ccc7!8m2!3d36.3721329!4d37.5161409
