DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4:00 PM) – Over 50 people have been killed in a horrifying terrorist attack on a mosque in the Sinai province of Egypt. The attack reportedly took place during Friday prayers when the mosque was full of worshippers.
Reports state that explosives went off inside a mosque in the Bir al-Abd region of Sinai a few minutes after prayers had finished. Local media believes the explosion came from a suicide bomber who had made his way inside the building.
Following this, armed gunmen arrives in 4×4 vehicles and opened fire on the crowd as they fled the building.
After the attack, the masked terrorists fled into the desert, leaving over 50 people dead and 150 injured.
Responsibility for the attack has so far not been officially claimed.
