(TASS) The bodies of the four Russian nationals who died in a helicopter crash in Turkey’s Istanbul on March 10 have been brought to Russia’s St. Petersburg, a spokesman for the Northwestern department of the Russian Investigative Committee told TASS on Sunday.
“The plane with the bodies of those killed in the crash in Turkey landed at about 15:30,” the spokesman said.
The Sikorsky S-76 helicopter crashed on Friday morning. The rotorcraft took off from Ataturk Airport and crashed about five minutes after the takeoff. There were seven persons aboard: two pilots and five passengers, including four Russians. All the people aboard the helicopter died in the crash.
Russia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case over the death of Russian nationals. Their bodies will be taken to St. Petersburg’s forensic medical examination office.
