BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 P.M.) – The owner of “On the Ground News” – Bilal Abdul-Kareem – has reportedly filed a joint lawsuit with Al-Jazeera journalist Ahmad Zaidan against U.S. President Donald Trump over an alleged “kill list” that has their names on it.
Abdul-Kareem, who is believed to be in northern Syria, alleges that he has “narrowly avoided being killed by five separate airstrikes” since he began his coverage inside the war-torn country.
“My lawyers just filed suit against Trump Admin for placing me and @AJArabic journalist Ahmad Zaidan on a kill list,” Abdul-Kareem tweeted this afternoon.
“We’re asking @realDonaldTrump to tell us what evidence he has to justify including us on a US ‘kill list,'” Abdul-Kareem added.
His counterpart, Zaidan, is suing Trump after Edward Snowden leaked NSA documents that revealed his name was on a kill list for alleged to both Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood.
Both Zaidan and Abdul-Kareem have conducted several interviews with jihadists from Al-Qaeda inside Syria and Pakistan, despite denying claims of any terrorist ties.
