DAMASCUS, SYRIA (4: 50 P.M.) – More rebel fighters were reported killed today as the infighting among rival insurgent groups continues for the second day in the Eastern Ghouta region.

According to local activists, today’s clashes killed more than 30 people and wounded at least 50, including civilians.

Fierce battles broke out yesterday in several rebel-held towns as the Saudi-backed Jaish al-Islam raided positions for Fayalq al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, killing and injuring scores, including two senior military commanders.

Reports came in that Jaish al-Islam – the biggest anti-government armed faction in the Eastern Ghouta – has mobilized hundreds of fighters supported by tanks and armored vehicles to storm Faylaq al-Rahman bases in Zamalka and Aebeen.
