DAMASCUS, SYRIA (12:10 A.M)- A football game that was set to take place between Israel and Argentina is now expected to face cancellation, the cancellation is reportedly due to Palestinian pressure.
After pressure by pro-Palestine BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) activists it is suspected that Argentina and Israel will no longer face off in a friendly football game, previously squeduled to be played in Jerusalem.
The game that was to be played in West Jerusalem and was widely condemned by Palestinians and human rights advocates who declared that the match, originally set to take place in the city of Haifa, was being used as a political tool in order to normalise Israeli War crimes.
Haaretz newspaper noted that no official statement has yet been made, although unofficial statements by key decision makers have been made public.
The move to cancel this game has been seen as a win by Palestinian activists. It has been noted that Israel, due to actions of its own, is now being seen by the world in a very similar way as the former Apartheid South African government was before its collapse.
