BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:10 P.M.) – Over 70 members of the Houthi forces were killed in western Yemen over the weekend, the Emirates News Agency reported this morning, citing Coalition sources.
According to the UAE-based publication, the Houthi losses were a result of the Saudi-led Coalition’s heavy bombardment of the Hodeideh and Sana’a provinces.
Despite these claims by pro-Coalition media, the Houthi forces have reported that more than 75 UAE-backed fighters were killed in the last 48 hours inside the Hodeideh Governorate.
The battle for west Yemen turned increasingly violent after the Coalition forces launched a massive offensive to seize the strategic port-city of Hodeideh.
Hodeideh is the last port-city under the control of the Houthi forces; if lost, they will be effectively besieged from land, air, and sea.
