DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:05 A.M.) – Jaysh Al-Fateh launched the 2nd phase of their large-scale offensive on Thursday, targeting the imperative New Aleppo District and Al-Assad Academy that are under the control of the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies.
On Friday, the jihadist rebels continued where they left off yesterday, striking the Syrian Arab Army’s positions around the New Aleppo District, while another force makes a serious push towards the Al-Assad Academy.
While Thursday’s assault was ultimately repelled, Jaysh Al-Fateh did manage to break-through the Syrian Army’s defenses at one point during the battle; this vulnerable area in the New Aleppo District is now the primary target for the jihadist rebels.
Meanwhile, at the 1070 Al-Hamdaniyah Housing Project, the jihadist rebels are attempting to capture the last 18 buildings that are under Syrian Army control, despite fierce resistance from the latter.
Russia’s 10 hour humanitarian pause is still in effect around the city, despite the ongoing jihadist offensive to lift the siege on the eastern neighborhoods.
